Chelsea teenager Jonathan Panzo is in talks over a move to Monaco.
The England Under-17 international has been recommended by Monaco technical director Michael Emenalo, who used to work for the Blues in the same role. Negotiations are at an advanced stage.
Panzo, who turns 18 in October, is an imposing yet skilful left-sided defender who was part of the England Under-17 World Cup-winning squad and won the FA Youth Cup and Premier Academy League with Chelsea last season.Panzo also had interest from the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and Valencia. Monaco believe he will cost around £2.5million in compensation.
Panzo follows the worrying trend of English youngsters looking to move abroad for first-team experience with their paths blocked at home.
Tottenham's Keanan Bennetts has joined Monchengladbach where West Ham's Reece Oxford has been on loan, Arsenal's Kaylen Hinds joined Wolfsburg while Manchester City's Jadon Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund.
